Get your game on with these new Android App Galleries

March 2nd, 2012 rhettstonelake

This week we launched two distinct publisher app stores focused on delivering news and reviews for  all-things related to apps on the Android platform. Both GetAndroidStuff and DroidGamers are perfect examples of publishers who are immediately benefiting from an app gallery integration. Already having built core audiences around their content, both publishers agree that now having a way to curate a selection of the “best” apps (as they relate to their audience) has been a huge asset and overall has helped to increase audience engagement. Where as before readers were sifting through blogposts or searching for relevant top-10 lists (not lending to accidental discovery or cross-relevancy) — each publisher was limited in the amount of apps they could display and feature. Now with the functionality, display and customization of an app store, mobile app content and curation will only become a bigger part of of the content created for each of these sites.

We believe in the power of editorial curation and now we’re glad to have two great examples of what is possible with the AppGalleries platform. Welcome to both Kahled and Andrew!

GetAndroidStuff.com

Why we like them – Good writing & editorial coverage on all-things Android including software updates, latest news and best apps.

What you’re most likely to find – a mix of recommend games, photography, entertainment and lifestyle/productivity apps. One of our favorites is the free Camera360 app.

DroidGamers.com

What – The original site dedicated to all things relating to Android games and gaming including hardware, tournaments, new, reviews and much more.

Why we like them – all-Android, all-games. One of the most thorough & comprehensive listings of games available on the Android platform.

What you’re most likely to find - Everything from RPG to Puzzles to Retro Games, they seem to discuss and review them all. If you’re looking for nostalgic trip down yesteryears or simply have time to kill, highly recommend Sonic CD

Update from the team: Things have been quite busy around here to say the least. Wanted to let everyone know we’ll be out and about next week at GDC  and we’d love to say hello.  Lots of parties to attend to but we’re planning to pay a visit to the Mobile OS Dance Battle next Wed. night 3/7. Can’t say we’re dancers but we may just try.

Then it’s off to SXSW on Thur. We cannot wait for the weather, bar-b-que and all-around good times. We really would love to see and meet with as many of you as we can (it honestly makes our day when we get to talk with people who are passionate about mobile app discovery). Please reach out on twitter @appgalleries or email us directly hello@appgalleries.com and we’ll set something up. Stay tuned as we’ve got LOTS more to announce in the coming weeks.
